Today

Comfort in sadness, in loneliness. Pleasure in despair. Self loathing. Self destruction. I fear going back to who I used to be. I fear the cripple inside.

Everyone of us passes through these feelings. I hope it will pass quickly...! I don't know what to add, just don't let your mind concentrate on the negative side, I know that you are a positive person.

And yet there's so much beauty, all around you, and you see it so well. Even in the bitterness and the despair there is beauty. Concentrate on that, and it will pass. Poor Fouad!

Fouad,

Since you acknowledge that you are aware that you may revert back to your old ways, then becoming that person is unlikely.

I wish to beleive there are repercussions for those who have caused us to leave our homeland..but it still doesn't fill the empty void in our hearts.

Beautiful, Fouad! Such an evocative and fresh take on a classical but always effective pose... Do you know the name of that painting of the youth hugging his knees? I can't think of it, or the painter's name... I should try to remember better.

Well ashraf, I wasn't thinking of a particular work of art with a similar depiction. I don't know.. please let me know if you ever remember which one it is.

Eureka, found it! It's Jeune homme nu au bord de la mer by Hippolyte Flandrin.
