To the love of my life

You might read this one day and you might not
A few people might read this as well, but maybe nobody will
This still is an open forum and a statement for the whole world to read
You, Nadine, are the single most important and most beautiful thing that has happened to me to this blessed day of my life
I love you with every molecule of my perishable body
I love and admire you for all the things you are and all the things that I want to be because of you
I love and respect you for all the things you do, all the care you hold, all the joy you spread around you
I love you in a world where love is not a transaction, nor a weakness, nor a game
I love you in a world where love is all the reasons to exist and all the reasons to wait for the sun to rise again behind the hills and set again behind the ocean
I love you in a world where the naked are warm, where the poor are fulfilled, where all the small creatures of this wonderful earth have a thin crack, a dip under a rock, a nest, a leaf to curle up under and dream of the morning
I love you Nadine
Let it be known to all and forever
A story carved on my chest and my forehead
A line drawn in the palm of hand
A history and a destiny
A yellow flower
A bookmark
A box of chocolate
A red sweater
A poem
And a scarf
All the little things between your little fingers
I love you Nadine
I love you
An open statement for the whole world to read
I love you

Attack of the Tsunami: All the World to the Rescue

I am touched.

So very touched by the humanity of it all. So many countries combining efforts to rescue and protect. All of them working together to defeat the destructiveness of Mother Nature after it struck with such cataclysmic magnitudes. Who do they have but each other, all the good people of all the good countries of the world, when disaster rears its ugly head, and thousands upon thousands of innocent men, women and children inescapably meet a fate oh so tragic and a pain oh so grand.

Oh how touched I am. Really. Because, come to think of it, no one and nothing is allowed to dispose of human lives but humans themselves. If Tsunamis and earthquakes think they have power over humanity, humanity will show them natural disasters, one human at a time, that I, all powerful human being, have claim over who shall live and who shall die, what shall be built and what shall be destroyed.

Let it be clear to all things animate and inanimate. WE rule the Planet. WE decide of Life and Death, Sickness and Health, Power and Despair, Freedom and Servitude. We kill and revive. We bless and damn. We judge. We act. We control.

Soon the global effort for relief will be over, seismic sensors will be implanted all over the bottom of the ocean, as soon as the dead are buried, the sick are treated and the displaced are given a shelter, human life shall go back to its normal daily routine. People will go back to killing other people, and nations will go back to exterminating other nations, as it has been and should always be. And will always be.

Tsunami or no Tsunami, humanity shall prevail.

It is our destiny. It will be fulfilled.
