Inside

When I was thirteen, I used to wonder if behind a closed window there was a maiden, beautiful as sunrise, sitting patiently, waiting to hear the sound of his footsteps, the young man who will save her from imprisonment and crown her queen of his universe. I'm much older now, yet I still wonder sometimes. I guess I will never know.

Oh my God! It looks like the window of the house where I grew up. Actually it was grandpa's and when he passed away over a decade ago we never visited!

I am in shock! I miss home!

Sometimes it's best to "never know".

walla, very poetic pics. I don't know if you already have - but do you think of taking art to the next level - i.e. more than a hobby?

Lebanese, I am glad I reminded you of home. There's so much in Lebanon to be missed and remembered, and if I accomplished this much, then these pictures ahve largely fulfilled their purpose.

Josey, yes, you're right. Some questions are better left unanswered, and the "truth" we create is often more comforting than the one we discover.

Lazarus, thanks for digging deeper in an open wound :) Actually, I almost did take art a step further, by spending a year at the lebanese university doing fine arts, as an interim between undergrad and med school. I eventually decided to go back to medicine. At any rate, art occupies and affects me in so many different ways that relegating to mere hobby status would be largely inaccurate and unrealistic.
Thanks for all your kind comments Laz.
