I wish you could use this graphic picture and make a sculpture out of it, either in bronze like Giacometti did - or welded out of steel.
I am not as pessimistic as Erzulie ... there are a great bunch of fine youngsters growing up who might embrace such a gesture.

only when that tree keeping them apart is removed. unfortunately, the tree seems to be growing.

the beauty of it, is that it can be interpreted so differently...
united yet parallel...one yet separate.... can hardly tell when one starts and the other ends...
but the trees...like their fruit, like their children....making their unity incomplete.... impossible...
the tree will win, no other alternative possible.

" "kathy, I'm lost," I said, though I knew she was sleeping
I'm empty and aching and I don't know why..."

I'll drink to that...

no no no it isn't about the tree. The tree blesses their differences. No matter how tall it grows, there will always be enough room between them, if they're willing, to hold hands and be brothers.

can't decide if they're hugging or dancing. either way, it's beautiful in its simplicity.
