KHALAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSS !!!

We are ALL guilty. ALL OF US. Emergency hiwar watani session??? I am not sure if I should laugh or puke my guts out on the table. Let it be known to all. We are scared, our lives are on the line, our country is history, but it's all our fault. Each and every one of us. These are the people we elected, these are the people we let freely thrive in their little haven of hatred and murderous ideals, and this is us, scared and incapacitated, failing but to point fingers and complain. Well let me tell you this folks, we pulled our pants down and stuck our naked asses out, and now that we're fucked, we really don't have jack shit to complain about.

Addendum in lieu of comment.

To all those who sympathize with us, thank you for your kind thoughts whoever you are. But let me make one thing clear. Yes it is our fault for not being strong enough or united enough to establish the rule of law and spread the lebanese army on all lebanese territory. But there is no love lost between the lebanese people and the israeli leadership. We have been invaded, abused, bullied, and humiliated by israeli occupation forces for many years. Entire families were butchered by israeli artillery. And now this? do you seriously expect us to believe that leveling this country's frail infrastructure is going to bring you your soldier and bring hizbollah to its knees? we might be weak and divided, but we're not stupid. We are being punished, that is all. Punished twice, by our own ineptitude, and by your ruthless retaliation. Hizbollah is screwing us over, but so are you. Now do I still want peace with you? yes. Peace not alliance. Peace not friendship. Not because I can't wait for us to hold hands, but because I can't wait for Lebanon to be out of harm's way. We've suffered enough, we've bled enough, we've built and rebuilt enough, and it's time for us to take a break and just live. For a change.

It's a crazy plan but crazy enough that it might work. Hizbollah & Syria are the root of the problem. How about Lebanese forces joining with Israeli forces and kicking the sick bast*rds out of your beautiful country.

The losers such as Jomblat are the source of problems and gangs of march 14 instead of solidifying their position they raise silly issues as how Syria will benefit from hezballah operation…..Hezballah never knew that the barbaric Israelis would reach this limit …at any rate Israel doesn’t want any excuse to justify its dirty work in the region…. Some Lebanese people if they have to choose between Muslim (hizbullah) or Israel they will choose Israel. Ya 3ayb el shoum 3alaykoum. Sorry Fouad for this comment but I couldn't keep it to myself. We all of us get the governance we acquiesce to, so yes, "we are all guilty." But when a militia is stronger, better eqipped and more motivated than a nation's army, chaos is bound to ensue. Yet, if a people do not have conrol over their army, a dictatorship waits in the wings.

Welcome, Lebanon, again, to the fruits from acquiescing to the eternally nihlistic politics of extremism.

'Be free.'

Yes, bismallah .. khalass.

It has been forty years since I last visited the Paris of the Mideast. 'Twas friendly and beautiful and a vibrant center of commerce.

Yet I have glanced that way ever since and watched friends turn into enemies ... one set against another ... not for any good reason, but because this leader or that wishes some temporary advantage. Not for the nation, not for the people, but for themselves.

So ... strife comes in on the heels of leaders who never loved Lebanon ... and the people acquiesce. Neighbors who once loved (or at least tolerated) one another let strangers tell them what to do. Khalass is all that can be expected.

Fouad:

Your pictures remind me of the Lebanon I once knew. Perhaps the people can solve this for themselves, if they awaken. Perhaps your Lebanon can return to be the shoulder of heaven, should the people shake the demons off.

Inshallah ... my hopes and good wishes are with thee.

Very well said, Fouad. However, this is the beginning of beautiful and lasting peace with Israel. The future is bright. Hizballah will be no more very shortly. Bear with Israel as it eradicates the Iranian-backed terrorist occupiers who have hijacked your once-proud nation. Understand that collatoral damage is inevitable as it is unfortunate. Stay safe, stay away from Hizballah controlled areas, don't be their human shields! This will be over soon. Israel is not after Lebanon and wants a sovereign nation with which to make peace -- not a nation occupied by Syria and Iran. Hang in there.

So shame on you and you alone for placing the security of our land and people in the hands of people who wish to liberate the whole bloody Arab world at our the expense.

WE support Lebanon PERIOD! we don't need brainwashed people like yourselves coming in here and spreading your propaganda. We have had enough of your hate, of your Hezballah's, of your Jumblatt's, of your Geagea's, of your Syria ... wake up for the love of Lebanon wake up! we just want to live.

Globular cluster,

A "beautiful and lasting peace" should start with a warm embrace not beating the shit out of innocent civilians! I wonder if you would be saying the same if your airport was being bombed ? if 50 Israelis were just murdered? if your infrastructure was being destroyed?..etc

If you think this is the way to stop Hizbullah then you are saddly mistaken. This will only help their recruting and will only give them another pretext for why they should not be disarmed.

Collateral damage you say eh? All I see is ruthless killing and flexing of your muscles!

Just like the israeli woman tanning on her balcony doesn\t deserve to be struck by a Hizbollah missilie, wether or not she elected the current `government or not nor does the family of ten (with children) in Lebanon deserve to be killed because they happened to live in an area that hosted many `hizbollah sympathisers.

My prayers are with you fouad, and I can't begin to understand your frustration. I hope you and your family are safe and unharmed.

There can be no embrace as long as Hizballah is entrenched in southern Lebanon with the tacit consent of the Lebanese. If you had to have a civil war with Hizballah in order to purge them from your soil, how many more lives would be lost as opposed to the current collatoral damage?

Sovereignty involves more than building a cafe in Beirut and sipping cappucinos. A nation that tolerates a foreign-backed militia as its chief military power is not sovereign. Israel has never wanted your land or control of your country. The sooner you assist Israel in destroying Hizballah the sooner reconstruction can begin. Dollars are available -- the hard part is getting rid of the Islamist scumbags.

Poul,
extreme measures distinctively breed extremism.
I was waiting for Israel to "become itself" since day one ... before I was born.
With some exceptions the Israeli experiment was a big disappointement.
Was it not for Hitler and the Nazis, Israel wouldn't even exist today - think about it.
Now that Israel is using "Nazi tactics" on others, tactics they once so much condemmed when burdend on themselves in the past I wonder what will come about of all of this.
And the US is standing by and sucking dick and putting a blindfold on for every move Israel does.
So to answer your statement Poul, Hizbollah will not be defeated - ever. Not from forces from outside of Lebanon. Only the Lebanese people will decide and act on this ... and perhaps be succsessful to arise to new life without fear and special intrest groups will cease to exist to give way to the common good.

Instead it is Lebanon who suffers the backlash of Hezbollah attacks and not Iran and Syria.

Time to send Hezbollah back home where they can fight at their, not your expense. TG

israel is punishing you because you guys letted a terrorist empire in your country...this guys dont want peace, they want war, they want death, they want...hell,i cant even understand what they want-they are acting in a illogical way..i mean-why in god`s name did they attack our soldiers in the first place?didnt you already have peace?didnt your country start going back to life?
i can`t understand why you letted this crazy dogs rule you,but you certainly should make a dramatic change...we want peace as much as you do...not to become friends, but just because we want to live.
and because of that-we MUST destroy hizbollah..its the son of the devil in a form of an organization...it should`nt exist-it should be burried 100 meters under the ground and sealed behind a metal door with 1000 unpickable locks.
and those who were in charge for killing our soldiers-they also must die.
only then, and only then-we`ll start thinking about peace.

Israel exists and your endless rage cannot change that. Why do you waste your lives on this perpetual hatred?

Like the good people of Lebannon, Israelis would just like to be LEFT ALONE. None of this would have happened without an unprovoked attack from Hezbollah last week.

"...it's time for us to take a break and just live. For a change."

That is a wonderful sentiment and I hope you achieve this goal. Unfortunately to 'just live', every person in Lebanon has to agree to 'live and let live'. Hezbollah has no interest in this position. It's clear that Lebanon does not have the ability to destroy Hezbollah with their large numbers and support from Syria and Iran.

It's also pretty damned likely that Israel can't do it for you. But Hezbollah is attacking Israel, so they don't really have any other choice than to respond. Let's all hope this Israeli attack destroys Hezbollah, however unlikely that result may be.

Lebanon cannot exist in peace while Hezbollah remains. Israel can't either. It is my most sincere wish for you that Hezbollah is destroyed permanently and Lebanon and Israel can co-exist in peace.

You harbor terrorists. That makes you a terrorist state. If Israel has to bomb you out of existence to rid the world of the hezbollah cockroaches, so be it.

That's the price you pay for letting them overrun your country and stay there. If you don't like it, take up arms and get them out of your nation. But shut up your whining. You have nothing to whine about. You brought this on yourselves. Period.

zee,

What Nazi tactics do you refer to? Armored warfare? It turns out that the Americans are masters of it. As are the Israelis.

What is different is that the Israelis have no designs on Lebanese territory. The have not set up camps to kill its residents. And I might add that Mein Kampf is not a best seller in Israel as it is in the arab world.

Who wants to kill all the Jews? Hizbollah. And Hamas.

============================================

Hamas Charter concludes with a verbatim reiteration of the apocalyptic hadith alluded to earlier:

“The Last Hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: `Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him’; but the tree Gharkad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews.” (Sahih Muslim, Book 40, Number 6985).

Tolerance of murderous hatred is not a good use of tolerance.

Wow. What contrast between your first post and this addendum. I guess you decided to blame Israel for your troubles after all.

You are suffering at the hand of Israelis? You have been invaded? abused? bullied? humiliated? Israelis have been slaughtered in the streets and in their homes by your hezbollah terrorists, women, children, entire families.

Americans have been slaughtered by your terrorists as well, 241 Marines, two embassies, and planes hijacked by your people.

I wonder how you would feel if a bunch of your friends were blown up by a suicide bomber at the local pizzaria or your mother was blown to bits by a suicide bomber while shopping for your families' groceries? How would you feel if your father was blown up on a bus by a suicide bomber on his way to his job?

You point your finger at Israel for your suffering but Israel is not the aggressor in this situation. A terrorist regime supported by and nurtured by the Lebanonese people is the aggressor, and you have supported the supported, nurtured and tolerated that terrorism for years, in defiance of the rest of the world.

Israel has reached her hands out in friendship many times, only to be rejected by your hatred. She has sought friendship, tolerance and peace, and today, you again reject this and refuse to give up your hatred.

As long as you hold on to your hate of Israel, you are doomed to a cycle of violence and death as a result.

Consequences suck Fouad.

The only way to your heart is with a gun.

Some of you are blind to the other side, not seeing what's happening there and some are just stupid or just full of hate - that is why you and the rest of the arab countries look like a pile of mud.

Here's a country like Iraq with a brutal nazi dictator, the US went in, cleaned up the ground and the Iraqi people just like you don't see it, blind as a bat, divided, and trying to kill the people that GAVE them HOPE?!! once you will be all united and with a positive cause you will have a fluorishing country with a strong base not a rotten one.

Do yourself a favour and stop hating so much, get rid of the deseased monkey called Nasrallah, cut ties with Syria (which is more of a mafia than a country)

First I want you to know that every one i've talked to in israel have simpaty to you and wish we could thoght of a diffrent way to solve this problem.
What options do we have?
In the year 2000 'hissballa' (what god this party serve? the Iranian god?) entered Israel and killed and kidnapt our soldiers - we did nothing, we foolishly hoped that we need to give you time to solve your internal problems.
But instead of that you gave 'hissballa' the option to creat an army - It was you, each and every one of you! The last attack on Israel (before that we did nothing) was done by lebanon's citizens that seat in the lebanon govrement!
If I would tell you now that Israel don't have any connection to the attacks of the IDF on Lebanon and that the IDF is an independent organization that no one in Israel have any control over it, would you belive me?
will that kind of a statment take our respnsability off?
We want our soldiers back and we want that Lebanon army will take responsability over your borders. the second this will happen we will stop all our attacks.
Is it too much to ask for? Are you a contry or not?
And don't try to sell me that 2 million people can't take hold over 2000 gang-boys. If this true then you dont deserve a state and if it's not true (and it's not!) then your faith (and ours) is in your hands.

we left lebanon 6 years ago, but it never left us.
i just fear we're too late to fix the situation now. this maybe the most uneeded war in history, but both nasrallah and olmert, as well as bashar el-asad, are to macho to give up now. i fear alot more blood of both sides will shed before this war will end.

Understand, people in Israel does not have anything against Lebanon or the Lebanese people. Most Lebanese I personally met were nice and educated people. We do not wish to harm your people in any way.
Please explain that to your people. Explain that if you will unite and get the control of your country, we will become your best friends instead of your enemy.
I really hope your guys can make a difference. Know that since we do not have many friends around we will welcome you as friends if you can just get yourselves together.
