I wanted to say that Lebanon with all of its physical imperfections captures my heart like nothing else in the world.
It still appears so magical and beautiful no matter what...
And the sepia tones give this an immensely nostalgic feel; contributing even more to my longing for it... :)

Buildings such as these are to me like the old man on the park bench. You may walk by without lending him a thought, but if you sit beside him & talk to him, you would learn much about your past, your present and maybe your future.

Sam and Lila, if I could do it all again, I would undoubtedly be an architect. It is what I've always wanted to be and where my heart truly resides.

Lila, you should visit Lebanon. These are lifeless pictures. Their esthetic appeal is selective and artificial. None of them compares to the vivid magic that has people like Pamela, myself and many others under its spell.
Good catch Ramzi :) I won't pretend I intended the "new" sign to be in the picture when I took it, but I did leave it in intentionally. Both ironic and true, as this view of Basta, although probably brewing somewhere in my mind, was entirely new to my "artistic"/photogrphic perception.
Right Fouad, right... damn it.
I still get tempted!
