Our Tragic Truth
"The marvel of all history is the patience with which men and women submit to burdens unnecessarily laid upon them by their governments"-William H. Borah

But if the government is of our own choosing then the "burdens" are not "unnecessarily laid":-)
Do you mean to say that people deserve what is laid upon them by the governments they choose?
Foud,
Goverments will dare exploit only those that want to be exploited. If people cannot rise to change a government that they disapprove of then they are complicit in their own exploitation. Free people do not set freedom as a goal, they simply act free.
Ghassan,
I don't mean this as an insult, but you are naive.
People in power decide war, economics, law, and liberties.
